Coach Bio – Amy Jones

This is Amy’s 13th year coaching and her 7th at PVC where she has assisted 16-3, 16-2, 16-1, 18-1, and has been the 18-2 Head Coach for 3 seasons.  In 2017 her 18-2 Gold team earned a 3rd place finish at the CO Crossroads tournament and she was awarded the PVC Coach of the Year.  Prior to PVC, she held 14-1 coaching position at another club for 3 seasons where she consistently lead her team into the Silver Division each year (from a beginning rank of 63, 57, and 49).  

Amy was recently the Head Coach at Reynolds High School for 7 seasons where she earned the peer voted Mt Hood Conference Coach of the Year award in 2013 and 2018.  She is currently an Assistant Coach at Mt Hood Community College specializing in setting where her setters have earned the Player of the Week in 3 of the 6 weeks in Conference play so far in this 2019 season.

She began her volleyball career playing for PVC 18-1.  Continuing her play at Mt Hood where her team was Conference Champions ’89 & ’90 and won the Regional Championship in ’89 earning Amy an All Conference setter award in ’90. Amy continued her play setting for the University of Portland. 

Amy’s husband, KC Jones, is a Portland firefighter.  They have been married 26 years. Her daughter, Kadyn Jones, is a PVC Alumni and currently playing at Southern Oregon University.  Her team was Conference Champions, All Tournament Champions, and took 7th at the National tournament in 2018-19 and is currently ranked 5th in the Nation for the 2019-20 season.
