PVC Goes “National”

Portland VBC will always go to great lengths to measure the relationship between cost and benefit when it comes to scheduling seasons for all our teams. In 2008 when the economy adjusted PVC made a concerted effort to cut back slightly on some of our more expensive tournaments and stayed a little closer to home. We still traveled to certain highly visible Qualifier Tournaments and sent our teams who qualified to each of those National Events.

As times have improved and needs have changed, we have adjusted, listened to our parents, and dedicated ourselves to a more aggressive tournament schedule for all of our top teams. There have been some careful adjustments to upgrade the travel schedule for our developmental teams as well.

Our “National” teams are for players with college and elite level aspirations for the future. A demanding practice and traveling schedule is, also reflected in cost due to extra travel. Teams who successfully qualify through either National Qualifier Tournaments or CEVA Regional finishes will attend the appropriate competitions.

For a closer look at our travel plans for all our teams please read under, “Teams” at the top of the home page and look up your team of interest for coaches and schedules. Our billing system throughout the season helps all families spread out the costs and clearly explains them based on each month. Portland VBC remains very forthcoming with costs of participation for every player’s family.

If you are headed for college through volleyball you will want to “Go National” with Portland Volleyball Club. 18U Black National, 16U Blue National, and 14U Red National, are looking for motivated players like you at this year’s tryouts. Give us a shout through our website if you have questions.
