Portland VBC has for years offered camps and private lessons. Now PVC also has offered Performance Train and Play Leagues for middle school age experienced players that give them all the advantages of clinics, combined with competitive play on remixed teams. This format has been a highly successful preparation for club tryouts for many players.
Generally speaking “Performance Camps” are for athletes who already have some background in club volleyball, and are interested in adding skills. These are not camps for beginners or players without club experience. You will find all PVC camps to be priced very reasonably.
Sometimes a little younger, sometimes a little older these Performance Camps generally reflect experience and level of ability rather than strict age group. You will find them listed with explanations of content of camp, or league, and descriptions of the background needed to attend. Designed for All Skills to Specific Position Performance Camps, our camps and leagues are generally limited to 14-16 players maximum with two championship head coaches teaching.
Lady Lion Camps are presented through West Linn High School and are available to all players. Generally speaking many of their camps are aimed at beginning players who are learning fundamentals. In the late summer you will find camps offered to mixed levels of ability. You will find that they too, offer a league on Sundays with a train and play philosophy in the fall. Larger in number Lady Lion Camps are directed by our club director Carl Neuburger and are coached by our PVC staff.
Good luck this season.
