Throughout his 26-year coaching career, he has provided quality skill instruction to club and high school teams while encouraging athletes to enjoy the game of volleyball.
Under Chijo’s guidance, the Pinksters were the 2011, 2012 and 2015 CEVA Regional 12U Gold Champions and were CEVA Regional Gold Division finalists for the previous five years. In 2011 and 2010, his teams played in the USA Volleyball Girls’ Junior National Championships. He also guided the team to the OSAA 5A Volleyball State Championship to finish 4th in 2007 and 3rd in 2006—the highest tournament finish in school history. Meanwhile, Chijo won the 5A Coach of the Year award for two consecutive seasons.
